Your favorite Seattle-area cannabis shop was proud to participate in "Dining To Make a Difference," the 4th annual charity dinner dreamed up by Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril.
Avril started The Cliff Avril Family Foundation to raise awareness about type 2 diabetes in youth, but has since expanded his scope to humanitarian efforts in Haiti, and supporting community-based organizations in Seatte, Charlotte, and Avril's hometown of Jacksonville.
We love the concept behind this fundraiser gala--attendees get to eat amazing food while meeting favorite players and coaches, who serve as waiters for the evening. We had a nice table at Palisade Restaurant, where we enjoyed a stunning view of the twinkling marina and the excitement of meeting our waiter for the evening--Jarran Reed. This was Reed's first time waiting tables professionally, but he was gracious and did a great job with our orders. Reed was one of many elite athletes in attendance--the roster included Michael Bennett, Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Luke Wilson, KJ Wright, Thomas Rawls, Jon Ryan, and Nelson Cruz from the Mariners. Cliff Avril made sure to visit every table personally to thank us all for coming, which was a nice touch.
In addition to dinner and meeting the players, the event featured a raffle and an auction with some cool items. One of the biggest bids was for the chance to go to Haiti to help impoverished families. People were bidding $20,000 for the chance to help people in Haiti. It made us proud to be Hawks fans and part of the greater Seattle-area community.
